Duane Stark is passionate about helping people thrive—whether through teaching, pastoral ministry, financial education, or community service. Today, he serves federal employees and other retirees as a representative with the Federal Employee Service Association (FESA), providing no-cost retirement and benefits education to help individuals and families make informed decisions about their financial future. He also continues to teach as an adjunct professor, preach, write, and mentor others through various ministry and community opportunities.
Born and raised in Southern Oregon, Duane earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon and a master's degree from Multnomah University. Throughout his career, he has combined leadership, education, and public service to serve people from all walks of life.
Duane's professional experience spans higher education, pastoral ministry, public policy, and nonprofit leadership. His roles have included Adjunct Professor, Oregon State Representative, International Missions Pastor, Local Outreach Pastor, Community Service Supervisor, Residential Psychiatric Treatment Center Supervisor, at-risk youth director, fitness club manager, personal trainer, and sheet metal fabricator. During four terms in the Oregon House of Representatives (2013–2021), he focused on legislation supporting public safety, foster children, mental health services, anti-human trafficking efforts, and local communities throughout Southern Oregon. His diverse background in leadership, education, and public service continues to shape his practical, people-centered approach to teaching and coaching.
A devoted father of eight through foster care and adoption, Duane remains deeply committed to strengthening families and advocating for vulnerable children.
While the settings have changed—from classrooms and churches to the legislature and retirement planning—Duane's calling has remained the same: helping people navigate life's important decisions with wisdom, integrity, and hope.
